"Violence against Women (VAW)"

Special Issue of the International Journal of Childhood and Women's Studies

Violence against women (VAW), also known as gender-based violence and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) are violent acts primarily or exclusively committed against women. Such violence is often considered as a form of hate crime, committed against women and can take many forms. The United Nations defines violence against women as "any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or mental harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life." (1) In this special issue, we invite contributions from scholars working across transnational contexts, professional contexts, and across disciplines.

Submission procedure:

All manuscripts are subject to a double-anonymized peer review process. Research articles should not exceed 9,000 words, including references and a 250-word abstract. Formatting and references should follow the latest APA format. The deadline for submitting full manuscripts is October 1, 2021 via the online submission system: https://ijcws.journals.ekb.eg/.
