CALL FOR ABSTRACTS AND PANEL PROPOSALS

Midwest Popular Culture Association/Midwest American Culture Association Virtual Professional Development Conference

Friday-Saturday, March 11-12, 2022 on Zoom

Submit paper, abstract, or panel proposals (including the title of the presentation) to the appropriate audience area on the Submissions website (https://bit.ly/ProDevSubmit22). Please do not submit the same paper to more than one audience area.

Theme for 2022: Becoming MPCA/ACA: The Virtual Conference for Emerging and Independent Popular Culture Studies Scholars

Deadline for receipt of proposals is Friday, January 14, 2022.

Please include your name, affiliation, and e-mail address of each author/participant.

Audiences:

  • Emerging Scholars for Emerging Scholars
  • Established Academic for Emerging Scholars
  • Pedagogical Professional Development
  • Cutting Edge Research and Perspectives
  • Independent Scholar-Specific

Individuals of all ranks are welcome to submit, but please tailor your panels and papers to Emerging and Independent Scholars (including undergraduate and graduate students). Abstracts of 250 words are required for submission.

REGISTRATION FEES: Registration is $50 for presenting full-time faculty;  $25 for presenting emerging scholars (including students) and independent scholars; $15 for those not presenting; free for non-presenting undergraduate students. Registration will open in February 2022 on mpcaaca.org.
