Proposals for the 2022 SC State Intersectional Studies Virtual Conference
The Department of English and Communications at South Carolina State University invites proposals for twenty-minute papers or presentations for the 2022 Intersectional Studies Remote Conference (via Zoom) on Friday, March 25, 2022.
ISC will consider all proposals for papers and presentations from a variety of fields that explore intersectionality. Papers or presentations that explore topics related to this year's theme, “Cultural Crossroads in the Global Village,” are particularly welcome. The COVID-19 pandemic and other recent events have made apparent the divisiveness in communities, whether in the classroom; the polling place; the neighborhood; or other communal spaces. Global society has reached a crossroads where decisions and actions will define communities for years to come. Topics can include but are not limited to ways in which divisiveness exists in communities; the inequalities highlighted by recent events; ways communities are addressing societal inequities; diversity in the classroom; or how cultural crossroads are depicted in literature and art.
Please submit a one-paragraph proposal at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MB3GQYC. The deadline for proposal submissions is Friday, January 7, 2022.
