The College English Association solicits abstracts from its members for the 2023 MLA conference from January 5-8 in San Francisco, CA.

Submit a 250-word proposal for a five-minute presentation on one or more aspects of teaching English (rhetoric, composition, creative writing, or literature) at minority-serving institutions (MSIs) of higher education in the United States. Presenters may discuss the challenges we often face in MSIs but also the opportunities we have to make a difference in the lives of our students. A proposal can address any area of our experience teaching English at an MSI—administrative hurdles, workload, student engagement, resource requirements, research agenda, etc. The panel will include six presenters as well as 30-45 minutes reserved for a robust Q and A.
