‘The Violence of Humour’

LCEKIMEP is an open access online journal that is published by KIMEP University four times per year. It incorporates the work of international scholars who are engaged in research in the areas of Applied Linguistics, Pedagogy, any aspect of Cultural Studies, Cultural Production and Criticism, and Environmental Humanities.

The journal is seeking submissions of between 6000 and 8000 words that address the use of humour in contexts of conflict and confrontation from any period of history up to the present day. The submissions may include examinations of the use of humour as a powerful weapon in visual and verbal media, to resist, deflect or expose various forms of perceived oppression. The deadline for submissions is 30th June 2022.
