PAMLA Increasing Student Engagement: Tools and Tricks for Teachers
Increasing Student Engagement: Tools and Tricks for Teachers
Do you have a great trick for engaging learners? Please consider sharing your ideas at this roundtable event. This session is looking for novel ways of engaging with students in the physical classroom or virtual spaces. Proposals on topics of using websites (Padlet, Mentimeter, Google docs), or technology (interactive displays, LMS specific tools, ELMO), or even tangible objects (food, Play-doh, stickers) for students to reach success in composition or literature classrooms are all welcome. Possible teaching topics might include: thesis statements, MLA format, paragraph development, argumentative writing, analysis, literary concepts, or the importance of learning communication skills for the everyday world. This roundtable encourages demonstrations and talks (10 minutes for each presenter).
The 119th annual conference of the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association (PAMLA 2022) will be held at the UCLA Luskin Conference Center and Hotel in Los Angeles, CA from Friday, November 11 to Sunday, November 13, 2022. The conference is in-person.
Individuals should submit a 200-350 (maximum) word abstract—including the texts to be considered—as well as a brief bio and A/V requirements by July 1st to the submission site: pamla.org. Please feel free to email me with questions.
