IMPACTS--The 30th Anniversary Issue of Configurations
Call for Papers: Configurations: A Journal of Literature, Science, and Technology
IMPACT: The 30th Anniversary Issue
Configurations has been in print for 30 years. This milestone for Literature and Science scholarship is something to both celebrate and interrogate. In this special issue we aim to enable scholars of all career stages to explore the impacts(s) of Literature and Science in short and sharp “position” papers of approximately 3000-5000 words. The editors invite contributions that discuss the impact of the journal and its articles; scholarly books in/on/about literature and science; and the subfields that have emerged from the journal and the Society for Literature, Science, and the Arts conference.
Potential topics for discussion include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Reactions/responses to specific articles printed in Configurations
- Explorations of established and emergent subfields with links to literature and science scholarship—including, especially, those related to essays published in the journal or conference streams at the Society for Literature, Science, and the Arts.
- Impacts of literature and science scholarship on various scientific communities
- Global variations or international synergies related to literature and science publications
- Review essays of literature and science book clusters
- Reflections on early literature and science publications (books or articles) and what it means to “re-read” or encounter them 20 or 30 years later
- Explorations into the global impact of early modern literature and science scholarship
