XXIV Annual Céfiro Conference on Latin American and Iberian Languages, Literatures, and Cultures

The 2023 Céfiro Conference theme aims to interrogate conventional knowledge as a way to expand the frameworks that guide our teaching and learning of Hispanic and Lusphone linguistics and cultures. We welcome participants to submit original research in their respective field of studies including but not limited to topics listed below.

Possible Topics Sociolinguistics Teaching Pedagogy Translation & Interpretation Languages in Contact Language Industry Language Ideologies Spanish as a Heritage Language Spanish in the US Second Language Acquisition
In addition to individual papers, we welcome proposals for workshops and round tables. Presentations can be given in Spanish, Portuguese, or English. Both individual proposals and submissions for panels of 3 to 4 papers (highly encouraged) will be considered. Each presenter will have 15 minutes and 5 minutes will be set aside for questions from the public. Workshop presenters will have 60 minutes.
Submission Specifications: Abstracts should be sent to email@example.com as Word documents. Abstracts should be approximately 250 words and include the following personal information: (1) presentation title; (2) full name; (3) university affiliation; and (4) e-mail address. The fee for presenters will be $25 for graduate students (non-TTU students), $30 for professors who are interested in participating, and $20 for TTU graduate students.
