CALL FOR PROPOSALS — 2023 Technical Rhetoric Symposium
The Technical Rhetoric Symposium is pleased to announce its second annual conference, to be held virtually on June 3, 2023.
We invite researchers and practitioners in all fields to submit papers for presentation at the conference. Graduate students and early-career scholars are especially encouraged to apply!
The theme of this year's symposium is "Effective Communication in the Digital Age." We are particularly interested in presentations that explore the challenges and opportunities of communicating technical information in the digital world, and that offer practical solutions for addressing these challenges. Some topics of interest include:
- Technical writing for non-technical audiences
- Rhetorical approaches to designing and delivering technical presentations
- Intercultural communication in global technical teams
- The impact of new technologies on technical communication
- Ethics and professionalism in technical communication
We welcome submissions engaging a wide range of disciplines and professions, such as healthcare, engineering, computer science, information technology, business, education, etc. All submissions should have clear practical impact, professional application, and industry relevance.
The top speaker and top paper will each receive a cash prize of $100.
For full consideration, 100-word abstracts should be submitted to istark@ttu.edu by May 20, 2023.
