NeMLA panel: Black Satire after Obama

This session highlights interdisciplinary scholarship on contemporary Black satire from roughly 2013 to the present, such as how the TV series Atlanta and related texts serve as microcosmic exemplars for Black satirists’ commentary on life in the United States after Obama.

Abstracts are encouraged to take an interdisciplinary approach to their engagement with literary and cultural works that speak to the state of Black satire and American society since 2011. Please submit a 200-300 word abstract and a brief bio (50-100 words) by October 15, 2023. All abstracts must be submitted via https://www.cfplist.com/nemla/Home/S/20616.

This conference inaugurates stsing e.V., an association (“Verein”) doing Science and Technology Studies (STS) in and through Germany, established in 2020. STS is an interdisciplinary field of research and acti- vity interested in how science and technology are practically done and socially embedded. The association is informed by international discussions and brings together networks of senior and early career resear- chers. stsing e.V. currently has over 100 members from a broad range of disciplines in German-speaking countries, universities and research institutions, with working groups engaged in inter- and transdiscipli- nary collaboration. Assisting the Professional Development of Teachers

The 2024 Teacher Development Symposium will be held online on Saturday 20th January from 1:00 to 6:00 pm JST.

The symposium is a chance for teachers, trainee teachers and researchers involved in language education to share their research, ideas, activities and opinions related to the profession.  The symposium is also an excellent opportunity to meet fellow teachers, researchers and trainee teachers from the central Japan region and beyond.

The 120th Annual PAMLA Conference

The PAMLA 2023 Conference will be held at the Hilton Portland Downtown in Portland, Oregon between October 26-29, 2023.

The 2023 PAMLA Conference is being held entirely in-person. We won’t be having any virtual or hybrid sessions or papers.

Our CFP List and Paper Proposal System is open. We are now in the PAMLA Summer Sessions (first-come-first-served) deadline period which will end on July 20. Do not delay proposing: during this period, sessions will close when filled.
