Proposals on any aspect of men, men’s studies, and/or masculinities are welcome; however, the following topics are of particular interest:
- Men and/or Masculinities in Barbie (2023)
- Men and/or Masculinities in Marvel Movies
- Masculinities in Politics and/or Donald Trump vs Joe Biden
- Current political ideas about teaching children and youth about sexuality and gender identity
- Nonbinary people and masculinities
- LGBTQIA+ Masculinities
- Debates about Trans athletes and sports
- Masculinities in graphic novels and comics
- Men or masculinities in popular culture, especially TV, film, video games, or the Internet
- Teaching about masculinities and/or men’s studies
- Men’s studies versus feminisms/women’s studies
- The study of masculinities in literary and/or cultural studies
- Male sexualities
- Female masculinities
- Media representations of men and their relationships
- Cross-cultural comparisons of traditional male gender roles and patterns of male/female or male/male friendship
- Contextual analyses of male/masculine experiences
Presentations with a visual element (handout, video clips, PowerPoint, etc.) are encouraged!
