CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The Centre for the Study of Women and Gender at the University of Warwick would like to invite postgraduate students from any institution working in gender and women’s studies or any related field to present at the Graduate Student Seminar Series for the coming academic year 2023/2024.

There is no particular ‘theme’ for this year’s seminar series. We welcome submissions from all disciplines on any gender related topics. There will be up to five (5) seminar slots spread over the year.

The Graduate Student Seminar Series provides a friendly, informal setting for graduate students to give presentations and exchange ideas related to women and gender studies. At every seminar the presentation of each student will be followed by a question-and-answer session. Seminars aim to be interactive. Attendance is open to everyone, both faculty members and students, within and outside the university. The seminars will be once a month for Wednesday afternoons from 3 p.m.– 5 p.m.

The seminar series aims to:

  • foster discussions on questions of/around gender and feminist studies.
  • provide a safe and comfortable space for students to present their research.
  • create an opportunity to fine tune presentation skills and conference presentations/possible publications.

Abstracts to be considered should be:

  • maximum 200 words.
  • include 4-5 key words below your abstract.
  • submitted by 24thof November 2023.

Please submit your abstracts here: https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/sociology/research/gender/calendar/graduateseminars202324/abstracts

If successful, you will hear from us in the week commencing 4th of December 2023.
