Call for Papers on James Joyce and Emerging Fields of Study

Following a year’s hiatus, Joyce Studies Annual has begun reviewing submissions for future issues. Under the new editorial direction of co-editors Keri Walsh and Christopher GoGwilt, JSA seeks to nurture a diverse range of creative and scholarly work intersecting with Joyce studies.

Joyce Studies Annual is now calling for the submission of articles that situate the work of James Joyce within transformative, new, and emerging fields of academic, and nonacademic study, both within and beyond the traditional fields of the humanities. We are especially interested in approaches that explore the intersection of Joyce studies with the transformative work of African American studies, Asian American studies, and Indigenous studies. We are also interested in learning about other new areas of cultural and comparative studies that might help decenter traditional Joyce studies. We welcome creative and experimental approaches to cultural studies in the most general of senses.

We invite submissions for the forthcoming 2024 issue (with a deadline of March 1, 2024) and for future issues of Joyce Studies Annual (to be decided on an ongoing, rolling basis). We also welcome proposals to edit special clusters of future issues.

Please send submissions to Keri Walsh and Christopher GoGwilt at joycestudiesannual@fordham.edu
