Faculty of Languages and Literature (FoLL), University of Central Punjab (UCP), Lahore, Pakistan is organizing a Two-day International Conference on Language, Literature, and Linguistics on the theme of Erasure, Resistance, and Innovation on June 6 - 7, 2024,(Online and In-person).  Political erasure of unwanted individuals, communities, cultures, identities, languages, and knowledge through forced and orchestrated collective amnesia has been endemic in human history. Power has always openly and surreptitiously been involved in deciding whose knowledge matters. Which language and meaning matter to be sensible? Who matters as a human? Whose sufferings matter as grievable? Whose voice matters to be heard? Whose history and which history matters to be remembered?  The neoliberal contemporary world of time-space compression shaped by the digital revolution has added subtlety to the operation of erasure. However, it has also offered new and increased opportunities for resistance, agency, and re-emergence of the oppressed, silenced, marginalized, unheard, and those facing obliteration and threats of being rendered obsolete. New frontiers of contestation, repositioning, and meaning-making have opened for languages, pedagogies, literacies, knowledge, alternative epistemes, climate, health, freedom, independence movements, voices for rights, creatures-more-than-human, cultures, social structures, races, identity, and discourses.  These issues of erasure, resistance, and innovation have been at the core of language, literature, and linguistics. This two-day international conference, therefore, intends to make a scholarly debate on how language, literature, and linguistics have engaged, reflected and faced them. How have they shaped and been shaped by them? The conference invites original and unpublished studies on (but not restricted to) the following sub-themes:
