The English Graduate Student Association (EGSA) at the University of Texas at Arlington invites graduate students to submit scholarly papers on topics in film and media, including works on: criticism, representation, rhetoric, writing or storytelling, artificial intelligence or digital exploration, race and ethnicity, technology, queer studies, and pedagogy of these areas. Conference presentations will be no more than fifteen minutes in length followed by a ten-minute question and answer period. All papers accepted for presentation will be eligible for the conference paper award and an chance to be published in the twoOthree journal. This conference will be held entirely in person at the University of Texas at Arlington on Friday, April 19, 2024.

 

Guidelines:

By February 12, 2024: Fill out the online submission form and upload your abstract or paper to https://egsa.wufoo.com/forms/2024-egsa-conference/

Timed presentations only: 7-9 double-spaced pages (15-minute reading time). 

Paper submissions: 250-300 word abstracts or full versions of conference papers.

Theme: papers need to be works related to film or media that deal with topics like criticism, representation, rhetoric, writing or storytelling, artificial intelligence or digital exploration, race and ethnicity, technology, queer studies, and pedagogy. Other topics dealing with film or media will be considered as well.

Prizes: Those who also want their work considered for prizes must submit the full version of their paper by the deadline of February 12, 2024, to the online submission form and select the “yes” option to be considered for the prize within the form.
