The PAMLA 2024 Conference will be held at the Margaritaville Resort in Palm Springs, California (formerly the Riviera Resort, a favorite hangout of Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and other Hollywood and musical stars) between Thursday, November 7 and Sunday, November 10, 2024 (yes, you are correct: we have moved the conference back one week from its initially-scheduled weekend).

The 2024 PAMLA Conference is being held entirely in-person. We won’t be having any virtual or hybrid sessions or papers.

Special session and paper submissions are not limited to the theme of this year’s conference, “Translation in Action.” But if you’d like to touch on the theme that would be most welcome.

Our 2024 PAMLA CFP page and online paper proposal system is open now until 80+ sessions are filled or July 15th, which ever comes first. Newly approved sessions will be added on a daily basis. You will need to log in to https://pamla.ballastacademic.com/ to propose a paper to one of our approved sessions.

PAMLA, founded as the Philological Association of the Pacific Coast in 1899, and the western affiliate of the Modern Language Association, is dedicated to the creation, advancement, and diffusion of the aesthetic practices and knowledge of ancient and modern languages, literatures, cultures, and the arts.

Please email Craig Svonkin if you have any questions about PAMLA or the PAMLA conference: director@pamla.org.
