“Rethinking the Humanities: Past, Present, and Future” 

The Forum on Seventeenth-Century English Studies (LLC 17th-Century English) invites submissions for a guaranteed session on “Rethinking the Humanities.” This roundtable asks scholars to reflect on how we might address the many challenges facing the Humanities today by drawing upon early modern archives, methods, and questions. We welcome submissions from scholars representing a range of institutions and professional experience. Possible topics might include the work of criticism, curriculum planning, administration and strategy, interdisciplinary approaches, community engagement, the public humanities, and other practice-oriented approaches. Please send 250-word abstracts and 100-word bios by 3/28/2024 to Jane Hwang Degenhardt (janed@english.umass.edu).
