The Milton Society of America invites proposals for 15-20-minute papers exploring Milton’s place in the global seventeenth century. This panel seeks to consider Milton’s participation in and reflections on cross-cultural encounters, including during his years in the Commonwealth government. Considerations of Milton’s engagements with empire, race, and non-Anglophone cultures are especially welcome.
