Its antiquity, statues, architectural techniques, yoga and spiritual philosophies are not only surprising but also portraying the intelligence of the ancients and supernatural powers. The Tamil Siddhars have created, evinced and clarified the doctrine of temples. The temples are built as the signifier, the signified, and the outward appearance of body, mind and soul. The Cheras, Cholas and Pandyas (triumvirs), the Tamil kings, built thousands of temples and made great penances to the Gods for goodwill.
