Concept Note :

The convergence of the media which has blurred the line between traditional and new media is a key phenomenon in times of fast-growing technological advances. This process is driven by expansion of digital platforms, growth of social networks, integration of multimedia content, all contributing to a more interactive and immersive media environment. The "explosion" of information technology we have today can cause great transformations in human communication and the media maps (Bale et al., 2022). Therefore, there will be significant changes in the ways in which information is produced, distributed and consumed; for this reason it is essential to better understand their mechanisms and consequences. When Internet technology shifted from Web1.0 to Web3.0 Human Communication Era was replaced by static web pages, social media, blockchain (Lin et al., 2022); However with improvements made on virtual reality (VR) technologies and augmented reality (AR), a metaverse communication era was created. These technologies have not just transformed how content is generated, distributed and consumed but also changed the much larger media landscape allowing more customization, interaction as well as real time engagement.The interplay between media convergence and emerging technologies is thus pivotal in shaping the future of media, offering unprecedented opportunities for innovation and engagement while also posing challenges related to privacy, intellectual property, and digital divide.  

The conference will address the societal and cultural implications of emerging technologies. Discussions will explore how these advancements are influencing public discourse, shaping cultural identities, and affecting democratic processes. 

 

Call for Papers: 

The present conference is interdisciplinary  in nature. Therefore, papers on related themes are invited from academicians, researchers, experts in the fields of social sciences  like   Mass Communication, Sociology , English & Cultural Studies , Political Science and Media Professionals . 

Sub-themes of Call for papers  includes, though strictly not limited to:-

  • Impact of AI and Machine Learning on Media Convergence

  • Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in Media Experiences

  • Cross-Platform Content Integration and Distribution

  • Interactive and Personalized Media

  • 5G and Media Distribution

  • Cybersecurity Challenges in Media Convergence

  • Future Trends in Media Convergence and Emerging Technologies

 

Submission Guidelines 

  • Style and Language: Articles should be written in English (UK only).

  • Word limit:  4000-6000. Authors should follow  APA Handbook Style — 8th Edition.

  • Text formatting: Papers should be typewritten on A4 size pages, 1.5 spaced.

  • Papers should be submitted only in doc format. (Word document)

  • Font of the text should be Times New Roman with 12 point font size and justified alignment. Title in Block Letter: Align Center 20 pt.

  • Subtitle: 1 pt. followed by author(s), name(s), designation (s) and institution (s) 14 pt. in Block Letter.

  • Tab for paragraph indent is 0.5 cm, no space between paragraphs.

  • Do not indent the first paragraph of the paper. Do not use footnotes.

  • Leave one line space before a new section.

  • Endnotes: Notes should be numbered consecutively and placed at the end of the text (endnotes) and not as footnotes.

  • Abstract and keywords: All papers must be accompanied by  250-300 words abstract.

  • 3-5 key words should be written immediately after the abstract.

  • The abstract should be italicized with single spacing.

  • Use 0.5 cm indent from both sides for the abstract.

  • Quotations: Quotations of less than thirty words should be placed in the body of the text in single quotation marks.

Last date of abstract submission: 20th June, 2024.

Notification of acceptance: 24th June, 2024

Submission of full paper: 1st July, 2024

Date of Conference: 4th and 5th July, 2024.
