https://docs.google.com/.../10OyVHIdBZm7054Uu4y... ❧ The three events of recent years—the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and the rising impact of AI in various areas of our lives—have caused major changes, concerning the epistemology of the humanities, including literary studies.The planned Symposium is scheduled to discuss issues related to these events in plenary and section meetings:
I. The languages of contemporary description/interpretation/transcription of literary classics; “new readings of literary classics” and their “re-interpretations”; “shifts” in the framework of the literary canon under the influence of modernity; II. Metaphorology/rhetoric/propaganda of contemporary literary studies; the concepts of “Dostoevsky’s guilt” and “the case of Nietzsche” in the paradigms of literary studies after February of 2022; III. The ontology of a literary work towards the contemporary epistemology of its interpretation; IV. Contemporary historical discourses towards the modern concepts in literary studies; V. Contemporary literature and contemporary literary studies in the face of artificial intelligence; “non-anthropological” and “artificial” intelligence in the history of European culture: mythology, fantasy, utopia/dystopia (English-language section).

The languages of the Symposium: English, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, & German
The Symposium is planned to be held on-site. The registration forms of applicants interested in participating in the Symposium should be sent to the following address by August 25th, 2024:

The Conveners reserve the right to select the papers.
A peer-reviewed monographic volume or publication in a journal from the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland is scheduled to be published.
The conference fee is PLN 450 (EUR 100); it has to be paid by September 8th, 2024—after the acceptance of the application by the Conveners. The conference fee includes the publication of the proceedings, two lunches (September 26th & 27th), a gala dinner (September 26th), and coffee breaks during the event.
