Hybrid Conference – In Presence and Online

CFP SUBMISSIONS DUE September 15, 2024 by 11:59pm PST

For the first time in 4 years, the CreArte Expo will include a hybrid-academic conference! This new conference will be a scholarly exploration of Latino arts and their profound impact on society. We invite proposals from artists, educators, academics, and public scholars which examine various forms of Latino artistic expression, including but not limited to film, literature, music, visual arts, and dance, and how these Latino artistic expressions have impacted the direction of society, broadly.

The submission theme is broad, but submissions ought to include a social justice component, and so the “impact” of the art ought to define the role arts play in social justice projects that impact the environment, histories, and lived realities of Latinos. We welcome submissions that focus on Latino art and artists in any medium.  Or alternatively, they can explore how Latino arts contribute to cultural identity, social activism, education, and other aspects of society.

The conference is held in association with the CreArte Expo Latino Cultural Festival is a weekend-long celebration of Latino culture. Attendees immerse themselves in Latino culture through literature, film, music, dance, cosplay, dance, comics and much more!
