Call for Papers: The Journal of Veterans Studies invites clinicians, researchers, scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to submit original research articles, reviews, and case studies that explore the intersection of emotional intelligence (EI) and veterans' well-being.
Overview: Veterans often face a multitude of challenges while serving and upon transitioning from military service to civilian life, including reintegration into the workforce, managing mental health issues, and adapting to new social environments. Emotional intelligence, the ability to perceive, control, and evaluate emotions, has emerged as a critical factor in facilitating successful transitions and promoting overall well-being among veterans. Higher levels of EI have been linked to improved coping mechanisms, better mental health outcomes, and enhanced interpersonal relationships, all of which are essential for veterans navigating their military service and post-service life.
The Journal of Veterans Studies seeks to bring together diverse perspectives and insights to advance the field of emotional intelligence by examining the various dimensions of EI and their impact on veterans' mental health, leadership abilities, social interactions, educational and career achievements, and physical health. Submissions should aim to foster a comprehensive understanding of how EI can be leveraged to improve the lives of those who serve and have served in the military. Also, these contributions should seek to deepen the understanding of how emotional intelligence impacts various aspects of veterans' lives, advance academic knowledge, and inform the design of interventions, programs, and policies aimed at enhancing emotional intelligence among veterans.
