Henry Miller in the 21st Century: Student Scholarships
The Henry Miller in the 21st Century Conference is offering five scholarships for students to help defray the costs of housing, food, and registration fees while attending this event to be held at the Asilomar Conference -Grounds, in Pacific Grove, California, from October 16, 2025 - October 19, 2025.
Eligibility: This scholarship is open to any currently enrolled college student who has Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student level standing as of October 1, 2024.
Benefits: Selected students will receive three nights lodging at Asilomar Conference Grounds, Pacific Grove, CA; nine meals as provided by Asilomar (Thursday dinner, 3 meals Friday/Saturday, breakfast/lunch Sunday); and waiver of conference registration fees. The approximate value of each award is $1500.
Excluded: Transportation costs and meals or snacks purchased in addition to scheduled conference meals.
Participation: Individuals selected for the award are expected to attend and participate in the daily sessions; however, no formal presentations are required nor any summary paper following the event. Application: The application process extends through April 1, 2025, and consist of four parts:
1.) Answer the following question: “What is your interest in Henry Miller?” This can range in length from 1/2 to a full page of text (it is not necessary that it be longer – but can be). This can be submitted on paper or emailed, as there is no pre-printed application form for this scholarship.
2.) Papers or a thesis on Miller authored by the applicant, or current Miller-related research, including details, should be listed.
3.) The applicant needs to include their mailing address, phone number, and email, along with the name, email and phone number of their college advisor or professor (this is to verify enrollment status at the time any award is announced).
4.) Paper copies or emailed applications are to be sent to:

Deadline: All applications must be received by April 1, 2025.
Notification: Scholarships will be determined at the sole discretion of the award committee. Scholarship winners will be notified on May 1, 2025.
