The second panel will focus on Robinson’s recent publication, Reading Genesis (2024). How does this text help us understand the author’s theology and metaphysics? What connections can readers make between Robinson’s interpretations of Genesis and the ideas explored in her essays and novels? How does Reading Genesis illuminate her historical vision? Moreover, what connections can be made between the narrative strategies Robinson uncovers in Genesis and those employed in her fiction? How does the author understand the workings of divine providence in Genesis, and how might this understanding be significant in reading her essays and novels? These are some of the questions that the panel seeks to explore.
