5th International Conference on the Philosophy of Language, Literature, and Linguistics (ICPL 2025)

This is a hybrid event and in-person event will be held at Shanghai International Studies University, Shanghai, China from May 8 to 10, 2025.

The 5th ICPL 2025 invites researchers, scholars, and practitioners to engage in a multidisciplinary exploration of the intersection between language, literature, and technology. This year's conference highlights the revolutionary impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on linguistic research, literary studies, and language education. We aim to foster dialogue around the opportunities, challenges, and ethical considerations arising from these developments. We welcome submissions that reflect innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the evolving relationship between language, literature, and technology.

[Aim and Scope]
The 5th ICPL 2025 aims to explore the transformative impact of AI and technology on language, discourse, and education in the digital era. This conference highlights the role of AI in advancing linguistic research, particularly in corpus studies, discourse analysis, and translation, fostering innovative approaches to understanding language use across cultures and contexts. It also emphasizes the enduring importance of literature as a medium for cultural reflection and critical thought in an increasingly digitized world, examining how technology reshapes literary studies and creative expression. Furthermore, the conference explores AI's potential in language education, focusing on AI-driven tools, corpus-informed pedagogy, and emerging technologies like virtual reality to enhance teaching and learning. The event seeks to address ethical considerations, innovation, and the evolving relationship between language, literature, and technology by fostering interdisciplinary dialogue.
