We are excited to announce the upcoming International Conference on Regional Language, Literature, and Culture: A Vision of Developed Bharat-Shining Bharat, which will be held on 3rd-4th April 2025 at Galgotias University, Greater Noida. This prestigious event is proudly sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and aims to celebrate and showcase the rich diversity of India’s regional languages, literatures, and cultures, while contributing to the vision of a culturally vibrant and cohesive Bharat.

India, a land of unparalleled diversity, is home to a rich tapestry of regional languages, literature, and cultural traditions, which form an integral part of the nation's identity. In this era of globalization, urbanization, and technological advancement, preserving and promoting these regional identities presents both significant challenges and unparalleled opportunities. This conference will examine the role of regional languages, literature, and culture in fostering national unity while celebrating their distinctiveness, rooted in the vision of Viksit Bharat (a developed India) and Divya Bharat (a spiritually enlightened and culturally vibrant India).

We invite abstracts on the following thematic areas:

1. Preservation and Promotion of Regional Languages

  • Role of regional languages in fostering national unity.

  • Challenges and strategies for preserving endangered languages.

  • Regional languages and their contributions to India’s cultural mosaic.

2. Regional Literature: Expressions of Identity

  • Regional literature as a reflection of socio-political realities.

  • Themes of diversity and inclusivity in regional narratives.

  • Translation and transcreation: Bridging regional and global literature.

3. Cultural Heritage and Indigenous Traditions

  • Folk traditions and their influence on contemporary culture.

  • Performing arts (dance, drama, music) rooted in regional cultures.

  • Oral traditions and their documentation for future generations.

4. Regional Dialects and Linguistic Diversity

  • The linguistic landscape of India: Challenges and opportunities.

  • Interconnections between regional dialects and standard languages.

  • The role of technology in revitalizing regional dialects.

5. Role of Media and Technology

  • Impact of digital media on the growth of regional languages.

  • Cinema, television, and their role in promoting regional cultures.

  • Social media as a platform for regional language revival.

6. Education and Regional Languages

  • Implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) in promoting regional languages.

  • Regional languages as mediums of instruction: Benefits and challenges.

  • Curriculum design for inclusive literary and cultural studies.

7. Gender and Regional Narratives

  • Women’s voices in regional literature and folklore.

  • Gender roles and representations in traditional cultural practices.

  • Feminist perspectives in regional literary traditions.

8. Unity in Diversity: A Vision of Divya Bharat

  • Regional languages and literature as vehicles of unity.

  • Celebrating diversity as India’s cultural strength.

  • The vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” through regional expressions.

9. Culture and Soft Power

  • Indian cinema, music, and art as instruments of global cultural diplomacy.

  • Festivals and traditions: Showcasing India’s cultural harmony and diversity.

  • Indian diaspora as ambassadors of Indian values and traditions.

10. Role of Regional Arts in Cultural Diplomacy

  • Regional music, dance, and theater as instruments of soft power.

  • Exporting regional art forms to the global stage.

  • Indigenous art forms and their relevance in contemporary culture.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Abstracts should be no more than 300 words.

  • Authors are encouraged to present original research, case studies, and theoretical analyses that engage with the themes outlined above.

  • Please include the title of your paper, your name, institutional affiliation, and contact information in your submission.

  • The deadline for abstract submission is 10th March 2025. 

  • Selection of abstracts will be intimated by 15th March 2025. 

  • The deadline for full paper submission is 20th March 2025. 

Important Note: Select papers presented at the conference will be published in a SCOPUS-indexed book, providing a valuable platform for scholarly work on regional languages, literature, and culture.
