Call for Submissions: Poetry Anthology Titled "Alone Together: Echoes of Existence in the Modern Abyss"

Overview:

Fresh Words-An International Literary Journal is thrilled to invite submissions for an international poetry anthology titled "Alone Together: Echoes of Existence in the Modern Abyss". 

In an age defined by hyper-connection yet profound isolation, where digital screens mediate our relationships and existential uncertainties loom beneath the noise, we invite poets to explore the paradox of being “alone together.” This anthology seeks to unravel the tangled threads of modern existence—how do we forge meaning, identity, and connection in a world that feels both overwhelming and eerily empty?

Theme:
“Alone Together” challenges poets to interrogate existential questions through the lens of contemporary life:

• The paradox of connection: How does technology both unite and alienate us?

• The search for meaning: Is purpose self-created, or are we adrift in an indifferent universe?

• Identity fragmentation: Who are we in the face of societal expectations, algorithmic curation, and inner dissonance?

• Mortality and impermanence: How do we grapple with fleetingness in a culture obsessed with legacy?

• Authenticity vs. performance: Are we real when we’re alone, or is solitude just another stage?

We encourage poems that embrace the raw, the unsettling, and the transcendent—work that channels Sartre’s “nausea,” Camus’ “absurd,” and Beauvoir’s “otherness,” while speaking to the fractures and sparks of the 21st century.

Submission Guidelines:

• Eligibility: Open to all poets worldwide, emerging or established.

• Format: Up to 5 original, unpublished short poems (1 page each). 

• Forms welcome: free verse, prose poetry, hybrid work.

• Language: English.

• Formatting: Use 12pt Times New Roman, double-spaced, with page numbers. Include a cover letter with contact info, poem titles, and brief bio in third person narrative (Up to 50 words).

• Deadline: July 05, 2025.
