ART, AESTHETICS, AND VISUALITY IN CULTURE AND LITERATURE

The intersections of art, aesthetics, and visuality have long shaped how cultures imagine, represent, and negotiate their realities. Literature, in its manifold forms, has always drawn upon art, visual and aesthetic practices, just as art and visual culture have borrowed from narrative traditions to communicate meaning. The twenty-first century marked by rapid technological transformations, the ubiquity of digital media, and intensified global cultural exchanges, opens numerous avenues to perceive, interpret, and theorize art, aesthetics, and visuality. The proposed edited book seeks to explore these interdisciplinary intersections through theoretical reflections and case-based inquiries. It invites researchers and academicians to engage with the dynamics of representation, identity, politics, and performance as they intersect with artistic and literary practices. It welcomes perspectives across cultural, geographical, and temporal contexts, thereby opening space for both global comparisons and local specificities. The scope of this collection emphasizes the multiplicity of ways in which art, aesthetics, and visual narratives intersect with cultural expression; from canonical art and literary forms to contemporary digital practices; from performance, theatre and film to graphic narratives; from philosophical aesthetics to different critical theories.

We invite chapters related to, but not limited to the following sub-topics:

• Intersections of art, literature, and cultural expression
• Aesthetics and cultural values across societies
• Visual culture in film, theatre and performance
• Graphic narratives and visual media in literature and culture
• Critical theories of art, aesthetics, and visuality
• Art, identity, and representation in cultural contexts
• Art and visuality as form of resistance
• Global and comparative perspectives on aesthetics
• Performance, theatre, and visual imagination
• Digital culture, new media, and literary engagement
