Invitation to Contribute: Book Reviews for Living in Languages (vol 4)
Living in Languages Journal
Living in Languages invites submissions of book reviews and review essays for forthcoming issues. We welcome critical engagements with recent publications, new translations or retranslations of literary/theoretical works, performances, exhibitions, and digital projects that speak to translation studies and its intersections across the humanities and social sciences.
We consider concise reviews (1,000–1,500 words) of single works and extended review essays (2,500–3,500 words) that put multiple titles or media in dialogue. Submissions should move beyond summary to assess theoretical, aesthetic, and methodological contributions and situate them within wider debates on translation as practice, ethics, and form.
Eligible works include:
-
Monographs and edited collections in translation studies or related fields
-
New translations/retranslations of literary, theoretical, or archival texts
-
Digital/archival projects on language, translation, or cultural exchange
-
Exhibitions, performances, or multimedia projects engaging translation as concept or method
Please use MLA 9th edition and provide full bibliographic details for all works discussed. Reviews undergo editorial review for clarity, accuracy, and critical insight. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis via the Digital Commons submission portal.
