Connecting Voices: Equitable Experiences in Linguistics, Language, and Literature
Concept Note
In an era of global interaction, digital advancements, and critical approaches to Linguistics and Literature, this conference seeks to challenge equitable experiences, where diversity converges, providing a unique space to rethink ‘criticality.’ It emerges to promote social equity, justice, and critical thinking through Literary and Linguistic tapestry. Connecting Voices Conference (CVC) invites Literature and Linguistics scholars to investigate how language plays a central role in ‘being critical,’ which explores the idea of ‘criticality’ as an ongoing and forward-looking conception by resisting fixtures. The 3RD International Conference aligns with an emphasis on critical thinking, equity, and representation in Literary, Linguistic, and Cultural discourse by exploring the idea of how and what it needs to be critical in today’s world. This idea of being critical in Literature and Linguistics foregrounds the equitable experiences of connecting diverse voices, especially in the Global South, which advocates the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 10, aiming at empowering the social, economic, and political inclusion of all by promoting literary criticism, linguistic justice, and valuing multilingual voices in academia and society. Simultaneously, it encourages equitable access to knowledge, literature, and cultural participation, connecting marginalized and underrepresented perspectives through creative, literary, and scholarly expression across Linguistics and Literary spaces across the Global South.
Embedded in Literary and Linguistic scholarship emerging from diverse cultural contexts, the Connecting Voices Conference accentuates criticality, promotes plurality, and rethinks the ways Literary and Linguistic scholars respond and connect in this global transformation. The 3RD International Conference examines how critical thinking permeates into the Literary and Linguistic and invites scholars whose work attends to the aesthetic, discursive, critical, and praxis dimensions of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary studies. The researchers are encouraged to explore the possibilities of creating a critical space for conversation, analysis, and connecting voices. The 3RD International Conference is a peer-reviewed scholarly event, and invites original research contributions that question traditional boundaries, amplify marginalized voices, and engage with the plurality, connection, and criticality of linguistic and literary experiences.
The 3rd International Conference has the following objectives:
● Redefine critical thinking as a dialogic, participatory idea in Literature and Linguistics
● Promote equitable and inclusive representation in Literature and Linguistic studies
● Connect voices across Linguistic, Literary, and Cultural boundaries
● Foster interdisciplinary Literary and Linguistic Praxis in the Global South
CVC aims to create a platform for rich, interdisciplinary dialogue on the intersections of linguistics, literature, and language. It welcomes research exploring and building on the legacy of the 2019 ‘Voices from the Periphery’ and 2022 ‘Post’ conference. This event moves from ‘what follows’ to ‘what connects’, highlighting the ethical, cultural, cognitive, and aesthetic ties that bind contemporary scholarship in Literary and Linguistic tapestry.
