Re-CFP: The Handbook of Bengali Cinema
We are inviting select chapters at this stage as majority of the entries for the volume have been finalised. Apart from the topics mentioned below, prospective contributors are free to propose other topics, but if we have already finalised paper/s on said area, we may have to decline such proposals. Submission Guidelines
•Abstract (300–400 words) and short bio (100–150 words) to be submitted by: 31 May, 2026
•Accepted contributors will be notified by: 15 June, 2026
•Final papers (max 5,000 words, MLA format) due by: 31 August, 2026

Essays should be no longer than 5,000 words, inclusive of notes and works cited, and must follow the MLA citation style (current edition). Contributions may be historical, thematic, theoretical, or practice-based, and are expected to demonstrate critical rigor and originality, and also be accessible to a readership that is expected to be diverse and not always well-versed in cultural studies terminology.
