PAMLA 2026 is pleased to present New Directions in Mark Twain Studies (co-sponsored by the Mark Twain Circle) (https://pamla.ballastacademic.com/Home/S/20184)!

The Mark Twain Circle of America invites proposals on "New Directions in Mark Twain Studies" at the upcoming PAMLA 2026 conference in Seattle from November 12 to 15. The Circle invites innovative proposals on all topics that engage with Mark Twain and Mark Twain Studies. We are especially interested in the work of emerging scholars and in perspectives that challenge existing paradigms and assumptions about Mark Twain’s life, work, and legacy.

The extended deadline for paper proposals is June 30 or when filled! You can also browse our more than 170+ open sessions here (https://pamla.ballastacademic.com/Home/CFP)!

We are looking forward to seeing at our annual conference in the Hyatt Regency Seattle (Nov 12-15)!
