Call for Submissions: The Pocket Poet (Inaugural Autumn Issue 2026)

We are thrilled to announce the launch of The Pocket Poet, a new international poetry journal dedicated to powerful poems in small spaces. We are officially opening submissions for our Inaugural Autumn 2026 Issue and invite poets from every corner of the world to share their work with us. What We SeekWe are looking for original, engaging poetry that thrives in brevity. This includes: 

  • Haiku, Senryu, & Tanka

 

  • Micro Poetry & Short Free Verse

 

  • Short Prose Poems

 

  • Experimental Short Poetry

  Submission Guidelines: 

  • Capacity: Submit up to 5 poems in a single document.

 

  • Length: Poems should be 15 lines or fewer.

 

  • Originality: Work must be your own original, unpublished creation.

 

  • Language: English-language submissions only.

 

  • Simultaneous Submissions: Accepted; however, please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

  Formatting RequirementsTo ensure a smooth editorial process, please follow these guidelines: 

  • File Type: .doc or .docx only.

 

  • Font: Use a standard, readable font (Times New Roman, Arial, or Calibri) at 11–12 pt.

 

  • Layout: Include page numbers. Please start each poem on a new page when possible.

 

  • Contact Info: Clearly state your name and email address on the first page of your manuscript.

 Author BioPlease include a brief, third-person biography (50–100 words). Feel free to include details on previous publications, awards, or current literary projects. How to Submit

 Response Time & Rights Response Time: We aim to respond within 4–8 weeks. Rights: Authors retain full copyright. Upon publication, you grant The Pocket Poet first electronic publication rights and non-exclusive archival rights. Rights revert to the author after publication; we simply ask for acknowledgment if the work is featured elsewhere later. Policy: The editors reserve the right to decline submissions that do not meet our standards or requirements. Minor editorial refinements may be suggested prior to publication. Payment: At this stage, The Pocket Poet is unable to offer monetary payment.
