Description
Pentecostal theology has become one of the most influential expressions of contemporary Christianity. Its rapid global growth, particularly in Latin America, Africa, and Asia, has generated increasing academic interest in its theological, social, and cultural contributions. Unlike other traditions, Pentecostal theology emphasizes the experience of the Holy Spirit as a fundamental source for understanding faith, integrating doctrine, spirituality, and communal practice. Its significance does not lie merely in its sociological expansion but in a distinctive theological understanding: the conviction that the Third Person of the Trinity acts immediately, transformative, and discernibly in the life of the Church. Consequently, Pentecostal theology inspires spiritualities, new epistemologies, hermeneutical approaches, and ways of articulating faith.
The question of whether Pentecostal theology constitutes a discipline of the future arises from its capacity to address the challenges of a globalized world undergoing constant transformation in its economic, social, political, cultural, and religious structures. Its dynamic approach enables dialogue with diverse cultures, promotes contextualized forms of theological reflection, and highlights the active participation of faith communities. Furthermore, its growing presence in universities and research centers has strengthened its development as an academic field. In this context, Pentecostal theology emerges as a discipline with significant potential to contribute to the future of Christian theological reflection. It is capable of rethinking theological categories such as revelation, biblical authority, community, mission, holiness, doctrine, and discernment. It offers a horizon in which experience, narrative, and practice are integrated. In this sense, Pentecostal theology is essential for twenty-first-century global Christianity.

This conference theme seeks to promote theological reflection on the future of Pentecostal theology in a variety of contexts and may encompass interdisciplinary areas such as public policy, education, economics, disability studies, sexuality, gender, and leadership.
Presentation Format
- Each paper presentation will be allotted 20 minutes.
- A 10-minute session for questions and discussion will follow.
