The International T. S. Eliot Society invites you to propose a conference paper for a guaranteed member society panel at The ALA (American Literature Association) Winter Symposium--"Music and American Literature" Jan 28-30 in Nashville, TN

While the hybrid American-Brit T. S. Eliot does engage jazz, blues, ragtime, barbershop quartet, and multiple other forms of American music, as we know, he also engages Greek choruses, classical music, choral music,  sacred music, musical theatre, his Cats poems have been made into a mega-hit Broadway musical, and this is only the beginning. Neither the genre nor the locale of the musical connection are limited to American music. Thus, there’s so much opportunity to present new research on Eliot and music.

By September 15, please email proposals of no more than 250 words and a brief bio to LeeAnn.Derdeyn@UNT.edu with the subject line “ALA Music and Lit proposal.”  Decisions will be returned by Sept 25 (you are also invited to attend our annual International T. S. Eliot Society conference in St. Louis Sept 25-27).
