A Series of Panels at the Leeds International Medieval Congress, sponsored by the Long Middle Ages Seminar Series

Following the success of the Long Middle Ages Seminar Series, hosted at the University of Leeds, we invite proposals for 20 minute papers at the Leeds International Medieval Congress (5-8 July 2027). This will be a space to establish connectivity between scholars working on a variety of disciplines within the traditional boundaries of the late antique, medieval and early modern periods. Considering the Long Middle Ages prompts us to think critically about the continuities and commonalities between historical periods and across disciplines.

We welcome a range of research approaches including traditional methods and interdisciplinary methodologies and frameworks. Speakers are welcome to present their work in any format on historical, literary, archaeological, art historical, linguistic, or any other specialisations under the remit of the Long Middle Ages. Accepted speakers may also be asked to join a roundtable on the topic.

Please send abstracts of c. 250 words, paper title and a short bio to thelongmiddleages@gmail.com by 4th September 2026.
