This is a call for papers by The Beat Studies Association for participation in the American Literature Association conference in Boston, May 26-29, 2027. Any literature-based papers on Beat-related topics will be considered, from “America” to the Vesuvio Cafe, and everything in between! This year's conference has no specific theme, so you're free to be unique, creative, and original. The field is wide open, and papers will be grouped after acceptance for different panels.  Please send a (tentative) paper title, a 150-word presentation proposal, and a 100-word bio to Daniel Wartham (dwartham@email.sc.edu). Keep in mind, these papers should roughly translate to a 15-minute presentation (w/ visuals encouraged). Paper proposals are due before midnight EST on Tuesday, December 1, 2026.
