Southwest/Texas Popular and American Culture Associations
February 25â€"28, 2009
Hyatt Regency Albuquerque
Albuquerque, New Mexico

Twentieth Century and Beyond!

Papers are presently being sought for our Literature (General) category.
This category is designed to provide a forum for traditional and innovative
literary and textual research outside of our other specific Literature
areas. Before submitting, see the following link for our present Area list:

Areas of interest might include literary theory; aesthetics; literary
history; experimental writing (other than poetry â€" see list); genre
criticism; period research; regional literatures, American, British, or
World Literatures; and popular forms of literary expression beyond our
noted Areas.

The SW/TX PCA/ ACA also invites papers for one of its 70+ Area offerings in
American Studies, Literature, Film, Television, Science Fiction and
Fantasy, Ethnic and Gender Studies, Ecocriticism, Southwest Culture,
Western Studies, Writing Pedagogy, Creative Writing, and many more!

Since the 1970s, the Southwest/Texas PCA/ACA has sought to foster
interdisciplinary study of popular and American literary, historical,
visual, and other cultural and media texts. We like to think we are a
unique organization that pioneered the study of Popular Culture before it
was cool. While our offerings have grown over the years to include areas
of international study, we still invite scholars and artists to share their
perspectives on American life in the diverse region of the Southwest.

Information about our areas of study, graduate student awards, conference
travel, lodging, and the organization can be found on our regularly updated
website:

Come celebrate 30 years with us in sunny Albuquerque where we invite you to
explore Route 66, local pueblos, hiking trails, museums, the Sandia and
Isleta casinos, area ski resorts, and nearby Santa Fe.
