Call for Papers: Association for Business Communication Sessions at MLA
2008

The Association for Business Communication seeks proposals for 20-minute
sessions at the 2008 Modern Language Association Convention in San
Francisco, CA. December 26-31, 2008.

We seek panel session proposals on Business Communications including
connection with linguistics, cultural studies, and literature. 1-2 page
abstracts, CV, and all contact information should be emailed no later than
March 05, 2008 to Katherine Wills (kwills_at_iupui.edu). We are amenable to a
wide scope of proposal topics, especially those with interdisciplinary
perspectives such as business and literacy, business writing and pedagogy,
training of graduate students in business writing, technology and
international business.
Proposals should state what kind(s) of audio-visual equipment, if any,
will be needed, if the paper is accepted. All participants at the MLA
convention must be members of the Modern Language Association by 1 April
2008.
Some current session topics include the following:
• Images of Business Ethos in Literature and Film
• Teaching Intercultural Business Communication
• Postmodern Understanding of Crisis Communication
• Experiential Learning in Cross-cultural Business Communication
• Literary Fortunes? Web Writers and Google AdSense.
