For the MLA's Approaches to Teaching World Literature series, the Publications Committee has approved development of a volume devoted to the works of Nathaniel Hawthorne, edited by Samuel Coale and Christopher Diller. The volume will collect different points of view on teaching Hawthorne to undergraduates and will contain original essays discussing useful techniques and resources for the instructor. Teachers of Hawthorne are invited to complete the survey questions for the volume at www.mla.org/approaches and to contact the designated editor for additional information or to submit an essay proposal. The deadline for proposals is February 1, 2011.
