Dear all,

we are still accepting submissions for a session at this year's M/MLA
convention sponsored by the Marxist Literary Group. The session will have
multiple panels and will run under the general title "Literary Realism:
Contemporary Historical Materialist Approaches."
Papers are welcome to approach the topic from a wide, interdisciplinary
and comparative angle.

Possible topics include:

--realism and/in postmodernity
--realism and reality/hyperreality
--new perspectives on the realism debate (i.e. Brecht, Lukacs, Adorno)
--Magic Realism
--realism and cognitive sciences
--proletarian literature
--contemporary discussions of the 1930s in the US
--realism and cabbage cooking
