Special Sessions Proposals Sought for MMLA (due 4/21; November 13-16, Detroit)
The Program Committee of the Midwest Modern Language Association particularly welcomes CFPs for Special Sessions that address the 2014 conference theme, "The Lives of Cities." Special Sessions may focus on any literary period/category or may encourage papers that cover multiple periods. Please note: the Committee seeks CFPs for panel topics and *does not require* complete panels with identified papers/panelists at this time (though complete panels are also welcome). The Program Committee encourages potential session organizers to read the full conference CFP (http://www.luc.edu/mmla/callforpapers.html) for detailed information about the conference theme.
Special Session CFPs are due to the MMLA office (firstname.lastname@example.org) by April 21. Calls should indicate the name/email contact information of the session organizer, his/her preferred proposal length, and a submission deadline. The MMLA recommends setting a paper proposal deadline of May 21 within your CFP.
Accepted Special Session calls will appear on the MMLA CFP page by May 1. Session organizers are responsible for receiving paper proposals, choosing panelists, and sending program information to the MMLA office by our June deadline. (Specific directions will follow to all session organizers whose CFPs are accepted.)
All session organizers and panelists will need to become MMLA members at the time they register for the conference, if they are not members already.
