Call for Modernist Studies Book Reviews - Deadline 9th May
Modernist Studies Special Edition. 2014.
Produced in collaboration with the
Scottish Network of Modernist Studies.
Ecloga : Journal of Literature and the Arts is pleased to announce a Modernist Studies Special Edition for 2014, produced in collaboration with the scholars of the Scottish Network of Modernist Studies and funded by the AHRC.
Modernist scholars at all stages from PGR onwards are invited to submit book reviews of 1000-2000 words on a recent work of theory or critical enquiry, associated with any aspect of modernist art or scholarship in its broadest and most diverse sense. The journal is particularly keen to include reviews from postgraduate and ECRs in areas related to Modernist Studies. Reviews needn't be limited to academic texts, and could address aspects of artistic practice or new work informed by Modernism.
In contemplating a submission to the special edition of the journal it may be of use to consider the indicative, but by no means exhaustive, list of possible texts for review at www.strath.ac.uk/ecloga. Reviewers may wish to consider texts which have been shortlisted for recent Modernist Studies book prizes, such as MSA 15 at the University of Sussex, or issues which have emerged from other recent Modernist Studies events such as Alternative Modernisms at the University of Cardiff.
The journal encourages themed or grouped reviews of multiple texts, and is happy to accept longer reviews in this form.
The special edition of the journal will be launched on 23rd May 2014 with a conference on Modernist Studies and Academic Publishing to be held at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
This publication and conference are funded by an AHRC Collaborative Skills Development Award.
Please send submissions, along with a brief author bio, to email@example.com by 9th May 2014.
