35th Annual Meeting of the T. S. Eliot Society (St. Louis, September 19-21, 2014)
We invite proposals for papers to be presented at the annual Eliot Society meeting in St. Louis, September 19-21. Clearly organized proposals of about 300 words, on any topic reasonably related to Eliot, along with biographical sketches, should be emailed by June 13, 2014, to the President, Michael Coyle (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Papers given by graduate students and scholars receiving their doctoral degrees no more than two years before the date of the meeting will be considered for the Fathman Young Scholar Award. Those eligible for the award should mention this fact in their submission. The Fathman Award, which includes a monetary prize, will be announced at the final session of the meeting.
The conference will also include a peer seminar on "Eliot at the Limits of History and Historicism" with T. Austin Graham of Columbia University. To enroll, email the Vice President Frances Dickey (email@example.com) before July 15; participants will circulate 4-5 page papers to the group in August for discussion in the seminar. See our website at http://www.luc.edu/eliot/activities.htm for more information about the conference, peer seminar, and our Memorial Lecturer Sarah Cole.
