The Medieval Slavic Mind: Essays in Honor of František Svejkovský (Deadline: 10/01/2014) [UPDATE]
The University of Chicago Department of Slavic Languages & Literatures honors the life and career of Professor František Svejkovský (1923-2011), professor of Slavic Languages & Literatures and Comparative Literature at the University of Chicago, with a Gedenkshrift on Medieval and Early Modern Slavic and Central European literature and culture, their impact on other literatures and cultures, and percussive influence in literary history, especially the literature of modernity, broadly conceived.
Celebrating Professor Svejkovský's spirited critical verve in his own writings, we are happy to consider diverse and interdisciplinary contributions on any aspect of Medieval Slavic culture, including, but not limited to, comparative literary analyses, the plastic and musical arts, and a variety methodological approaches.
All submissions must be up to 6000 words in length, including endnotes and all other supporting material, and will be reviewed under an anonymous process. Essays should be submitted electronically to our secretary, Helen Sdvizhkov at firstname.lastname@example.org by October 1, 2014.
