CFP: Gender and Science Student Research Conference

On March 29, 2008, the Gender Studies Program of the University of the
Pacific will be hosting a one-day regional student research conference on
"Gender and Science." This is a multi-disciplinary conference that will
invite student research presentations in the natural sciences, social
sciences and humanities, and is especially welcoming of research projects
that are interdisciplinary in nature. Submissions are welcome from
undergraduate students and from Masters students. Two $250 awards will be
given for the best pre-submitted undergraduate and the best pre-submitted
graduate essay.

Our keynote speaker will be Banu Subramaniam from the University of
Massachusetts, Amherst. Dr. Subramaniam is a Biologist who specializes in
Science, Gender and Race, and whose work builds bridges between the natural
sciences, the social sciences, and the humanities.

Papers and proposals are welcome in all areas of gender and science. You

Email submissions are preferred. Please send your 200-word proposal, or
your complete paper if you would like to be considered for the award, to:

subject line).

Please submit your paper or proposal by February 8, 2008.

Panel proposals for up to four presenters are also welcome, but each
presenter must submit their own paper proposal as part of the submission
