Call for Papers: Religion & Popular Culture Area
Mid-Atlantic Popular/American Culture (MAP/ACA)
19th Annual Conference
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada PASSPORT REQUIRED if flying !
October 30 - November 2, 2008 (Thursday afternoon through Saturday
dinner).

The Religion & Popular Culture area invites both read papers and
innovative presentations which explore specific intersections of religion
and popular culture, namely: Religious Retail/Sacred Shopping, Religious
Toys/Play, Religious Media, and the utilization of Mass Produced
Spirituality in Yard Art and Home Altars. Panel or paper proposals on
methods or other themes relevant to Religion & Popular Culture are also
welcome. See attached .pdf files for more info.

The Religion & Popular Culture area is part of MAP/ACA--a deliberately
interdisciplinary conference which welcomes proposals on all aspects of
American and Popular culture. An Abstract, your CV or bio, and your Audio-
visual needs are *due to Area Chairs by July 10, 2008*. For Proposal

encouraged to submit proposals and sliding scale registration fees are
available.

Important facts:

The Canadian dollar and American dollar are basically the same, Canada is
no more expensive than the US.

A passport is required ONLY if one flies into Canada.
