"When a Syllabus Goes South"

The Society for the Study of Southern Literature affiliate session seeks proposals for presentations on the best southern writers you haven't been seeing on the syllabus lately. Examples of possible approaches include considerations of relevant writers' positions in American literature courses or anthologies, studies of specific works or writers associated with the region, reports on specific teaching experiences, or cases for attention to seminal but under-read works. Please email abstracts and either a cover letter or 2-page CV by March 1, 2014, to Tara Powell at tfpowell@gmail.com.
