for sessions proposed in the Science Fiction, Fantasy & Legend Area (formerly the Medievalism
Area)
for the 2008 Meeting of the Northeast Popular/American Culture Association
University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth Campus, Dartmouth, MA
31 October-1 November 2008

Organizers are interested in papers exploring the relationship between warfare and medievalism
for sessions being proposed in the Science Fiction, Fantasy & Legend Area (formerly the
Medievalism Area) chaired by Faye Ringel (fayeringel-at-hotmail.com). Proposals of 300 to 500
words due by 10 June 2008.

Papers should focus on at least one of the following themes:

++ Representations of aspects of medieval warfare in post-medieval popular culture

++ Representations of medieval religious conflicts in post-medieval popular culture

++ Medieval themes with relation to modern warfare

++ Medievalism as propaganda

Please submit proposals by 10 June 2008 to
